Review the technical and behaviour requirements and make sure you have everything you need. Do NOT attempt the test if your internet connection is not solid and stable.
Ensure that you use the full minute to thoroughly complete your room scan. Ensure that you show the entire room including the ceiling, floor, under tables and on your desk. If your room scan is incomplete, it may be invalidated.
Disable all browser extensions and anti-virus software. Turn off your VPN – you will not need to use this to take the test.
Be sure your workspace is free of electronic equipment (except the device you will use as your second camera), books, and general clutter. Show any paper and pens during the room scan if you plan to take notes.
Test in a quiet private location. Turn off your music and television.
Do not take your test whilst seated in front of a window; this results in poor lighting and limited visibility. If the proctor can’t see your face clearly, your test may be invalidated. Please have direct, overhead lighting or lighting in front of you.
During the test:
Make sure you are visible on your secondary camera throughout the test – do not lean backwards in your chair and out of the camera angle.
Sit directly in front of your webcam, displaying your full face, neck, and shoulders. If you are sitting angled and show your side profile or limit visibility of your full face, your test will be invalidated.
You must complete the test in one sitting. If you leave the testing session, your test may be invalidated. Announcing the reason for a brief absence from camera view is strongly recommended.
Do not adjust audio settings. Do not mute or turn down the volume. There must be loud and clear audio for all sections of the test. Otherwise, your test will be invalidated.
There must be no one else in the exam room. If someone offers technical help during testing, this person must leave once the help is provided and testing is resumed.
